Hello! This is Lisa from In Dramatic Fashion and I am thrilled to be contributing to PopCosmo with the latest style tips and trends from NYC. This wild weather it seems almost everyone is experiencing has also ushered in the chance to try out spring’s hottest trends earlier than normal. One of the biggest trends for the season: Pastels.? Louis Vuitton and Prada both placed pastel fashion front and center in their spring collections, but it is incredibly easy to try out this trend without spending a fortune. Mainstream stores are offering plenty of options to add a touch of pastel or help you create a full Easter-egg-hued ensemble.
To avoid looking dowdy, this season’s take on pastels feature bright saturated versions of pastel colors rather than washed out, faded hues. Mint green has been front and center, but ice blue, peachy sorbet, and cornflower yellow are also fun to play with.? Best of all, it is easy to try out pastels by pairing them with what’s already in your wardrobe. Mint green and pastel yellow pop especially well against classic denim jackets, or cuffed boyfriend jeans. I love peach with stone grey, and ice blue looks very classic against ivory or white pants.
Another fun version of the trend is to pair the pastel shade with its darker cousin. Try ice blue skinny jeans with a cobalt tank top, or a mint green blouse with your olive green cargo pants from last fall. If you are more of a neutrals girl adding a pastel handbag, necklace, or pair of sandals is a great way to add a touch of color to your look. The trend can be worked in as little, or as much, as you like to create a unique look combined with your spring standbys. And pastel jeans can easily be substituted for your plain 'ole blue jeans. ? The pair on the home page are from Urban Outfitters.
Thanks so much to Lisa at In Dramatic Fashion in NYC with the latest scoop on pastels. ? They are everywhere for spring... and not just in the US. All it took was Kate Middleton wearing a pair of coral J.Brand Skinny jeans? to play some hockey and Britain's coral jean sales skyrocketed. ? Cool pastels are hot, so just pick your favorite pastel color for spring 2012 and hop on the pastel bandwagon... this is one trend that looks like it's here to stay for a while.
